Introduction

When you’re cooking with herbs, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the only way to use them is to chop them up and toss them into a pot of soup or stew. While this is certainly one option, there are so many more! Herbs can be used in everything from salsas and sauces to grilled meats and even desserts. I’ve put together this list of some of my favorite ways to cook with fresh herbs. They’re all super easy—and delicious!

Basil

Basil is a popular herb that is easy to grow and can be used in many recipes. Basil is great for pesto, but it’s also delicious in salads, pizzas and more.

Lemon Verbena

Lemon verbena is a perennial herb that grows to about 3 feet tall and wide. The leaves are bright green, lance-shaped and have a strong lemony scent. Lemon verbena can be used in tea, as a garnish or added to any salad or soup recipe for extra flavor.

It’s best to grow lemon verbena from cuttings rather than seeds because it takes so long for them to germinate (upwards of six months). You can find these cuttings at your local garden center or online through sites like Amazon Prime Day Deals 2019: Best Deals On Smartphones And Tablets! – Orchid Care Tips For Beginners – How To Treat A Black Eye Naturally

Here’s how you can grow your own lemon verbena plants at home:

Sweet Marjoram

Marjoram is a perennial herb that grows in the Mediterranean region. It has a sweet, minty flavor and can be used to season foods like pasta sauces, stews and soups. Marjoram is also known as an antioxidant plant because it contains rosmarinic acid which helps prevent cell damage caused by free radicals (unstable molecules that can cause damage to cells).

Marjoram contains vitamin K which supports healthy blood clotting; magnesium which helps maintain normal heart rhythm; calcium for strong bones; iron for healthy red blood cells; potassium for normal nerve function; folate (vitamin B9) needed for cell growth

Oregano

Oregano is a strong herb, so use it sparingly. It’s great for marinades and rubs, tomato sauces and pizza. Oregano pairs well with beans (especially chickpeas), mushrooms and potatoes.

Sage

Sage is a hardy perennial herb that can be grown in a container or in the ground. It’s best used fresh, but it can be dried and stored for later use. Sage has a milder flavor than other herbs like thyme or oregano, which makes it versatile enough to use on its own or combined with other herbs like rosemary or basil to enhance their flavors.

The leaves of sage are grayish green with serrated edges and have an earthy aroma when crushed between your fingers. The stems are woody and hollow, forming small clusters at the base of each leaf stalk (called “branches”).

Tarragon

  • Tarragon has a licorice-like flavor and is often used in French cuisine.
  • It can be used in chicken, fish, or egg dishes.
  • Tarragon is best used fresh, but it can also be dried or frozen if you don’t use it often enough to justify buying fresh all the time!

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme Bundled Together with Fennel & Mint

This is a great way to use up a bunch of herbs at once. You can use any combination of herbs that you like–just make sure they’re all fresh and colorful! Parsley is a versatile herb that can be used in everything from salads to soups to pastas; sage has an earthy flavor that’s perfect on roasted chicken; rosemary needs to be dried out first before using it in recipes; thyme adds delicious flavor when used sparingly as part of your favorite marinades or sauces; fennel adds crunchiness while mint balances out any strong flavors from other ingredients

These herbs can be used in so many ways!

Fresh herbs can be used in so many ways! Here are some of my favorite ways to use fresh herbs:

  • In soups and salads
  • As a main dish ingredient
  • In desserts and drinks
